Antique hand-written poem about London which begins -
Oh! London’s a place very strange
I scorn each fancy or fiction
But,sure, it has had a great change
For the streets all express contradiction
At Charing Cross, no cross is ‘spied
The Golden Cross is but mere gilding
Silver Street, Golden Square are belied
The Bank is no bank but a building
- and continues in the same witty vein
